Approx 269 cm x 131 cm, this piece features a simple gabbeh-style design with a rich red field and subtle tonal variations, giving it a calm, understated look. Its elongated shape makes it well suited for a wide hallway or entryway, and it can also work alongside a bed or behind a sofa.
About this design
Gabbeh rugs are traditionally nomadic rugs, and feature very simple designs and patterns, often inspired by nature. It is not uncommon to see animals, people and trees scattered across these designs. The name 'Gabbeh' comes from the Persian word for raw/natural/uncut, and reflects the thick pile that these rugs traditionally featured. We sell Gabbeh rugs from a range of countries, including Iran, Afghanistan and India, with piles ranging from approximately 8mm up to 25mm thick!
