Approximately 280 cm x 199 cm, this rug presents a deep red field with repeating geometric motifs and a strong contrasting border, highlighted by dark accents. Its generous size makes it well suited for a living room or placed under a dining table seating six to eight.
About this design
Kunduz rugs share similar colours and patterns to Khal Mohammadi rugs, but are of finer quality with tidy knotting and smooth, almost velvety pile. You will frequently see Kunduz rugs with a small section of flat-woven 'kilim' at either end, next to the fringes. They are hand-knotted in the Kunduz region of northern Afghanistan.
