An approximately 282 cm x 90 cm runner with a rich red field featuring repeating geometric motifs and a detailed border in dark accents. Its elongated shape makes it ideal for a hallway or entry, and it also works well in a kitchen galley or along the side of a bed.
About this design
Kunduz rugs share similar colours and patterns to Khal Mohammadi rugs, but are of finer quality with tidy knotting and smooth, almost velvety pile. You will frequently see Kunduz rugs with a small section of flat-woven 'kilim' at either end, next to the fringes. They are hand-knotted in the Kunduz region of northern Afghanistan.
