A runner measuring approximately 291 x 84 cm, it features a rich red field with repeating geometric motifs and a framed border, accented with dark blue and black details. Its long, narrow shape makes it ideal for a hallway or entryway, and it can also suit a kitchen galley or sit neatly alongside a bed.
About this design
Kunduz rugs share similar colours and patterns to Khal Mohammadi rugs, but are of finer quality with tidy knotting and smooth, almost velvety pile. You will frequently see Kunduz rugs with a small section of flat-woven 'kilim' at either end, next to the fringes. They are hand-knotted in the Kunduz region of northern Afghanistan.
