Approximately 60 cm x 40 cm, this piece shows a classic Bokhara layout with repeated geometric gul motifs on a rich red field, framed by patterned borders with black and cream accents. Its small size makes it ideal for an entryway, beside a bed, or in front of a console or dressing table.
About this design
These rugs are named after the Bokhara (also spelt Bukhara) region in Uzbekistan. The design features a repeated geometric design, often referred to as the elephant print. The design shares many similarities with the Turkoman 'Tekke' design. Modern Bokhara rugs are commonly hand woven in Pakistan, and feature soft and luxurious pile.
