Approx 60 cm x 40 cm, this small rug features a classic Bokhara layout with repeating geometric ‘elephant foot’ guls on a rich red field, framed by multiple borders with dark and light accents. Its compact size makes it ideal beside a bed as a soft, colourful accent.
About this design
These rugs are named after the Bokhara (also spelt Bukhara) region in Uzbekistan. The design features a repeated geometric design, often referred to as the elephant print. The design shares many similarities with the Turkoman 'Tekke' design. Modern Bokhara rugs are commonly hand woven in Pakistan, and feature soft and luxurious pile.
