Approximately 60 cm x 40 cm, this compact Bokhara rug features a rich red field with rows of geometric “elephant’s foot” medallions and contrasting black-and-cream borders. Its small size makes it ideal as an entryway accent, beside a bed, or under a small side table.
About this design
These rugs are named after the Bokhara (also spelt Bukhara) region in Uzbekistan. The design features a repeated geometric design, often referred to as the elephant print. The design shares many similarities with the Turkoman 'Tekke' design. Modern Bokhara rugs are commonly hand woven in Pakistan, and feature soft and luxurious pile.
